BEIJING, Sept. 29 (Yonhap) -- Forty five people believed to be North Korean refugees attempted to enter the Canadian Embassy in Beijing en masse on Wednesday and 44 succeeded, officials at the South Korean mission here said.

One is known to have been caught and is being investigated by Chinese authorities.

The group are understood to have sneaked into the embassy at about 1 p.m. and the South Korean embassy is trying to identify them and figure out where they came from, an embassy official said.

The alleged defectors cut the barbed-wire on the wall surrounding the embassy in order to break into the compound, a Canadian …
