THE Valletta Waterfront development, targeted at raising Malta's appeal as a cruise tourism destination, is moving ahead at speed.
The project has received more than 200 expressions of interest from different companies wishing to operate from its imposing facilities at Pinto Wharf.
Management company Viset, the lead developer on the scheme, is keen to secure tenancy agreements with successful applicants by November.
The € 25m ($30m) waterfront initiative will provide top quality leisure and entertainment facilities for cruise and ferry passengers as well as the Maltese public.
The flood of inquiries follows a call for expressions of interest issued in June for operators in the leisure and entertainment business as well as businesses looking for prestigious office space at the magnificently restored Pinto Wharf.
Responses were received from both local companies and inter- nationally known franchises.
