KUALA LUMPUR: Seven loan sharks (or Ah Longs) have been banished so far this year under the Restricted Residence Act 1933.

In a determined crackdown on illegal money-lenders, police opened the files on all known loan sharks this year and secured the banishment order from the Internal Security Ministry.

The Malay Mail learnt that all seven are from Johor.
