ACT Green in strong position: Internet poll A new poll has found the Greens' Kerrie Tucker in a strong position to beat Liberal Gary Humphries for the ACT's second seat. A Bulletin-Nine poll of about 4000 people on the Internet put MsTucker's support at 28 per cent. Senate candidates need 33 per cent of the vote to be elected in the ACT. The Greens got 7 per cent in 2001. This boosts Ms Tucker's position after recent preference deals saw every party in the ACT, except the Christian Democrats, direct their preferences to the Greens ahead of Senator Humphries, the incumbent. Senator Humphries played down the result and said he had been getting a good community response. ''I think it is an indication that Kerrie Tucker is going to do well, but I don't think it proves she is going to win,'' he said.
