Ballot Bites (CT, Wednesday September 29, Page 4) carried the unsurprising news that Federal Liberal Deputy Leader Peter Costello had yet again engaged in his favourite pastime of Canberra-Bashing, saying he prefers the 42 days of election campaigning, "because you don't have to spend time in Canberra''. Given the way the Federal Government has ignored Canberra (even to the extent of calling the Federal election the week before our Assembly election - I bet they'd never do that to NSW or Queensland!) Mr Costello might not be surprised to learn that no-one here is counting the days till his return, either.
