(From Canberra Times)
The feel imparts a sense of motoring security and well-being and the car begs to be driven hard and enthusiastically.
Wheels are 16, 17 or 18-inch light-alloys, depending on the model combination and sports suspension, while a lowered body can be optioned. The new SLKs are longer, wider, higher and have more room than their predecessor and once you're sitting behind the wheel, you really feel part of the car ... sitting in it rather than on it as is the case with some sports cars.
The car is very much defined by its long bonnet, flat windscreen, wide doors and a short tail.
The look is purposeful and sexy.
An interesting SLK innovation is the world's first neck-warming system for top-down driving during the chillier days of autumn, winter or spring.
Mercedes calls it the ''airscarf'' and it's a neck-level heating system that at the touch of a button directs warm air from the head restraints onto the driver's and passenger's necks while the top is down.
