NORTH Sea offshore support vessel markets remain buoyant this week with charter dayrates continuing their recent strength although weather improvements have allowed vessel availability to improve.

Bad offshore weather held up several rig moves and cargo runs last week, leaving a backlog of work for the rest of this month.

Rigs are moving again in the North Sea, and some vessels are returning to ports to capture new work.

'Availability is slightly better with a handful of vessels available, but given there are more fresh requirements, we expect to see most of these being quickly fixed up,' said an Aberdeen-based broker. …
