Police identify 3 bodies recovered from river

Police identified Friday the bodies of three people recovered from a minicar found submerged in a river in Omuta, Fukuoka Prefecture, as the mother, brother and brother's friend of a high school boy whose body was found in the river Tuesday, police said.

The three are Sayoko Takami, 58; her eldest son Tatsuyuki, an 18-year-old university student; and his 17-year-old friend, Junichi Hara.

Mami Kitamura, 45, of Omuta, has told the police that she killed the three and Joji Takami, 15, the younger son of Sayoko. …
