American Eagle, American Airlines' commuter airline, has agreed a tentative new contract with its pilots' union which includes a 5% pay rise from 1 January 2006.

The agreement will see pilots receive a 4% pay rise on 1 January 2005 and a further 1% increase on 1 January 2006 along with an improved retirement plan and other changes.
