Cordless phones seem to be bucking the pervasive "digital is better" trend. In our tests, phones using analog transmission had the best voice quality. Many analog phones have another important edge over most digitals, we have found: They aren't likely to interfere with other wireless hardware in the home.

You might think that those advantages would put analog phones front and center in the market. But the electronics stores we've visited jumble inexpensive analog phones next to expensive, full-featured digitals, with no apparent logic as to which phones go where. Tags next to the prices name some features without decoding the jargon. That makes it hard to find ...
