GM recalls all Saturn Vue SUVs for suspension failure.(recalls & safety alerts)(Brief Article)
As this issue went to press, General Motors Corp, recalled all the Saturn Vue sport-utility vehicles it had ever made-nearly a quarter million vehicles-because of a suspension failure that turned up in a government safety test.
The left rear suspension failed on two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive Vues undergoing the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's dynamic rollover testing. According to Brian Bachman, a Saturn spokesman, the failure took place when the test vehicle was making a corrective maneuver to the right at 45 mph. The left rear wheel "tucked under" the vehicle. This prevented the Vue from completing the rollover test.
NHTSA also has had one report of a similar suspension failure on a 2003 Saturn Vue, which resulted in a rollover. The Vue is one of the ...
