With $1.4 billion a day in goods and services moving across the U.S./Canadian border, the dollar value of potential collection claims is substantial. Most U.S./Canadian trade takes place between established buyers and sellers with solid payment histories and existing commercial relationships, but claims issues continue to arise, and credit managers must be familiar with the small but important differences between the collection process in U.S. and Canadian courts.
