FOR MOST PEOPLE, the possibility of using the words George W. Bush and philosophy in the same sentence would seem laughable. From the first days of his presidency, the US incumbent's intellect has been the stuff of comedy, a fact sometimes played up by "Junior" himself. By the same token, in Australia, philosophy is considered irrelevant to pretty much anything beyond the navel-gazing of dreamers and specialists, let alone the thrust and party of political powers.
