A REPORT is today expected to say that major works are needed if Starbeck Baths is to stay open.

Harrogate Council yesterday refused to confirm exactly what the dilapidation report - compiled by consultants at a cost of GBP18,000 - says about the state of the baths and will instead publish its report today.

The report will identify the work which would be needed to keep the baths open over a five-year and a 25-year period and will be considered by councillors at a cabinet advisory group meeting moved from Monday to Thursday.
