Wellington, Sept 17 - United Future's call for the Foreshore and Seabed Bill to be delayed is set to cause the Government technical and political difficulties in the coming months.

The call for a delay follows a Government approach to United Future MPs asking for their assistance in helping the bill progress through Parliament.

They wanted the United Future MP on the committee considering the legislation to vote with the Government so the bill could have a smooth ride, but United Future has said no.

Supporters of the legislation -- Labour, New Zealand First and Progressive -- do not have a majority on …
