An AWARD-winning island brewery is drawing up proposals for a new warehouse and bottling facility and a visitor centre.

The Uig-based Skye Brewery has already replaced its brew plant with new equipment capable of producing double the previous volumes.

The news comes in the wake of further success for the brewery which won the silver medal in the inaugural champion bottle-conditioned beer of Scotland competition at the Ayrshire Beer Festival.

Its Misty Isle cloudy wheat beer, previously only available in draught, brought the brewery's second silver medal this year.
