Varsity students demand gov'ts apology

... As former NUGS presidents take NPP, NDC stance

STUDENTS OF the University of Ghana-Legon have demanded an apology from the government to the tertiary education community for failing to implement the proposed new student loan scheme which was scheduled to take effect from the current academic year and also for not informing students about the failure.

The students called for the apology when they were informed at a forum organized by the University of Ghana chapter of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) on Friday, to deliberate on the frustrations that students go through in accessing loans under the current SSNIT student loan scheme.

The forum was also to discuss the prospects of the proposed loan scheme.
