The two Uganda People's Congress (UPC) factions, which have been at loggerhead, are in Zambia for reconciliation meetings to brace for full participation in politics.

Sources told The New Vision that faction leaders Dr. James Rwanyarare, who heads the Obote-allied faction and Lira Municipality MP Cecilia Ogwal, who heads the splinter faction, left for Lusaka on Thursday night to meet party president Dr. Apollo Milton Obote who is there in self-imposed exile.

Rwanyarare is the chairman of UPC's Presidential Policy Commission (PPC).
