In a classic case of making the best out of a bad situation, the Florida Outdoor Advertising Association has been coordinating efforts with member companies to assist in the donation of vinyl "bulletins" for the victims of hurricanes Charley and Frances.

The industry seems to have suffered some damage to its physical infrastructure, although the association has yet to release numbers about damaged or lost billboards.

In the meantime, Tram Pickett of Berlin Sign Co. in Port Charlotte and Venice has emerged as a guiding force in the clever initiative to help folks secure their hurricane-ravaged homes from more water damage, …
