Sun Microsystems has launched two new professional products, the Sun Java Workstation Wll00z and W2100z. Designed to maximize productivity, the Sun Java Workstation Wll00z and W2100z are 64-bit systems based on AMD Opteron processors and Nvidia's graphics technology. Both the Wll00z and W2100z mini towers support simultaneous 32- and 64-bit computing.
Developed for digital content creation professionals, the Sun Java Workstation Wll00z boasts a single 100-series AMD Opteron processor, five PCI-X slots, USB 2.0 and IEE1394a ports, and onboard Gigabit Ethernet. As well as an integrated dual-channel memory controller for a maximum of 8eB of PC3200 registered ECC memory, the Wll00z supports up to two 80GB Ultra ATA100 internal hard drives and Nvidia's AGP-based graphics accelerators, including the Quadro FX3000, FXll00, FX500, and NVS280.
