Tokyo, 13 September: Japan Telecom Co. said Monday [13 September] it will offer an uncompressed image transmission service that will provide crisper television images and launch the service in Europe on 1 October in concert with the British Broadcasting Corp.

The 2.4 gigabits per second [Gbps] transmission service will enable broadcasters in Europe, Japan and the United States to air visual content at higher quality for such programmes as news, sports and concerts, the carrier said.
