P EUGEOT has added a new mid- level model to its 307 range. The 2.0-litre $29,990 307 XSR joins the entry-level $25,990 XS and the range-topping XSE, that tips the scales at $31,790. Importantly for Peugeot customers, they can now own a 2.0-litre 307 for under $30,000, with exceptional levels of standard equipment. The XSR has an impressive list of standard kit, including six airbags, ABS, with electronic brake-force distribution, electric windows and mirrors, climate control, radio/CD, remote central locking and an engine immobiliser. The practical and fun-to-drive new 100kW ''Pug'' comes with the choice of a five-speed manual or tiptronic automatic gearbox. It has 16-inch alloy wheels, a colour-keyed exterior, lots of interior storage ''cubby holes'' and cruise control.

Toyota takes awards TOYOTA has dominated the 2004 Overlander magazine awards, with the petrol- powered LandCruiser 100 Series, petrol Prado and turbo-diesel HiLux all winning gold awards in their classes.

In addition, the all-wheel-drive Kluger was runner-up in the class won by Prado.
