THE HONG KONG SOCIETY of Accountants launches its new corporate identity today as the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA).

The long-awaited revamp coincides with successful reforms aimed at enhancing the society's self-regulatory functions.

The existing regime on the regulation of local accountants has been improved with the smooth passage of the Professional Accountants (Amendment) Bill 2004 passed in July, which broadens the scope of the society's powers.
