The largest healthcare provider in Japan is investing $100 million in a hospital and retirement facility for elderly Japanese, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has announced.

While it has yet to identify a location, Tokushukai Medical Corp. agreed to put up a 1,000-bed medical facility that will also feature a retirement home, following a meeting with DTI officials.

Tokushukai, however, wants Japanese doctors to practice in the planned hospital. But the Constitution states that "The practice of all professions in the Philippines shall be limited to Filipino …
