On 14 March last year, Lloyd's reached a settlement with the six insurers involved with the arbitration proceedings on the Central Fund insurance, but reserved the right to pursue others involved in the placement of the policy for the shortfall.
Lloyd's stated ithad been considering its position in relation to the brokers who placed the insurance policy (Benfield and Aon), and following discussions, has decided to proceed with legal action.
