ADVANCED PIANO
Nelita True * Tuesday, March 28
Renowned pedagogue Nelita True is professor of piano at the Eastman School of Music, where she served as chair of the piano department for 14 years. She received bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Michigan and a D.M.A. degree from the Peabody Conservatory. Over the years, True has given hundreds of master classes, lectures and recitals throughout the world. She has served on the juries of several prestigious international competitions. In addition, she was the first American invited to be a visiting professor in the Soviet Union performing and conducting master classes for a month at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. True was the recipient of the 2002 MTNA Achievement Award and the 2005 National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy Lifetime Achievement Award.
INTERMEDIATE PIANO
Ingrid Jacobson Clarfield * Monday, March 27
Ingrid Jacobson Clarfield, nationally recognized teacher, clinician, pianist and author is professor of piano and coordinator of the piano department at Westminster Choir College of Rider University. She holds a bachelor of music degree from Oberlin College and a master of music degree from the Eastman School of Music. Clarfield has given lecture-recitals, workshops and master classes in more than 100 cities across North America. She has also authored many collections for Alfred Publishing Company, including Keys To Stylistic Mastery, Books 1-3, From Mystery to Mastery; and Artistic Preparation and Performance. Clarfield maintains an independent studio in Princeton, New Jersey.
