SEOUL, Sept 1 Asia Pulse - The ruling Uri Party said Wednesday that it will push for a bill calling for broad tax cuts, including on special excise or luxury taxes, to bolster economic growth.
The party said it has agreed with the government to push for measures that will scrap special excise taxes on 24 of the 32 items now subject to such taxes. These include projection and plasma display panel TVs, air conditioners, golf clubs, motorboats and jewelry.
The Uri Party, which has 151 lawmakers in the 299-seat National Assembly, said that the tax cuts will also be applied to furs, expensive watches, rugs and furniture, as well as some medicinal products.
