SEOUL, Sept 1 Asia Pulse - The dispute between credit card issuers and retailers over credit card fees took a turn for the worse on Wednesday after BC Card raised its commission fee as planned.
In response, E-Mart, the country's biggest discounter, immediately banned consumers from using BC Card's credit cards in its stores.
The credit card company said it raised the fee from the current 1.5 per cent to 2 per cent-2.35 per cent at the chain store's 65 branches nationwide.
BC Card's action comes after a series of negotiations failed with E-Mart, which is adamant against higher fees.
