- Tax-evasion and perjury charges were filed Tuesday by the Bureau of Internal Revenue against 14 business establishments, which the bureau said owe the government taxes amounting to more than P200 million.
- Prices of vegetables commonly grown in the highlands of Cordillera escalated by P15 to P50 a kilo this week, due to the floods triggered by heavy monsoon rains last week.
- The government on Tuesday raised P4.665 billion from the sale of five-year zero coupon bonds. This was the first time the Bureau of Treasury issued zero coupon bonds maturing in five years.
- Rentals in prime investment-grade offices may increase by as much as 15 per cent this year due to increased demand from the countrys booming call-center industry, the consultancy firm CB Richard Ellis said.
- Data from the National Statistics Office last year show that the country's exports, $37.2 billion, were almost equal to our imports, $37.5 billion. The trade deficit was a tolerable 1.8 per cent.
