TAIPEI, Aug 31 Asia Pulse - Taiwan plans to recruit mainland Chinese high-tech experts living abroad in view of a domestic shortage of high-tech manpower, a Council for Economic Planning and Development (CEPD) official said Tuesday.
CEPD Vice Chairman Thomas M.F. Yeh noted that according to statistics, there will be a need for 1,585 experts with doctorates and 23,193 experts with masters degrees in the next three years, while the current educational system can only supply 1,140 doctorates and 18,579 masters holders in the period.
