Canada Steamship Lines has signed a C$30m agreement with Canadian Shipbuilding and Engineering for the forebody replacement and steel renewal of the Jean Parisien at Port Weller Dry Docks.
The life of the 225.5 m, 33,300 dwt self-unloading bulk carrier, built in 1977, will be extended by 25 years.
This is the fourth vessel in CSL's Canadian fleet to receive a new Canadian built hull, in a $225m renewal programme, a job that will also see installation of automated self-unloading equipment.
