Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi has said that Al-Jazeera "acts as a spokesman for the terrorists" in Iraq. He said that a group of independent observers had concluded that Al-Jazeera's reports were "false, factious and served the aims of the same forces which sow horror and death". Allawi said that in Iraq a war was being fought to the "last drop of blood against subversive forces which threaten freedom and civilized coexistence". He stressed the importance of the Italian forces' role in Iraq and called for an international "single front" against these "terrorists".
