NO HUMAN being deserves to have their life stolen from them in as violent a manner as Tralee murder victim, Michael Faulkner, the congregation at his Requiem Mass was told yesterday. Mr Faulkner was stabbed to death in front of his eleven-year-old son last Monday night.

Fr Damien O'Mahony, celebrant of the Mass in St Mary's on the Hill Church in Knocknaheeny in Cork, told the mourners that society was starting to lose its value and respect for human life.

"No one deserves to end a life in such a savage and violent way. It is a sad reflection on our society.

The family have suffered a great loss and no words of mine …
