After shame of discus gold, IOC close to netting high profile track star

RUMOURS that a major international track star has been trapped by the most successful drug testing regime in athletics' history were gaining momentum in the Olympic Stadium in Athens last night.

Just a day after the latest guilty party, Hungarian discus thrower Robert Fazekas, was stripped of his gold medal for refusing to submit to a drugs test there were strong rumours that an even bigger fish has been netted.

As the media covered the track and field events with one eye, they were desperately keeping the other on a possible new scandal breaking - something which has become a daily occurrence in these Games as the new, all-powerful World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has pursued the cheats with a vengeance.
