Minsk, 26 August: A new criminal case was opened today against a renowned opposition figure and the chairman of the Business Initiative NGO, Mikhail Marynich. The case was opened under Paragraph 4 of Article 210 of the Criminal Code of Belarus (abuse of office and embezzlement). The new case was launched over a possible theft of computer equipment owned by the NGO. In addition, it was announced that Marynich would be held in custody.
