Conover Educator Wins $7,000 National Award for Innovative Teaching.
ATLANTA, Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Lizbeth Alfaro, a teacher at Lyle Creek Elementary in Conover, N.C., has been recognized as one of the nation's most innovative educators in the 2004 ING Unsung Heroes awards program. Among 100 initial $2,000 award winners, Alfaro also has earned the program's overall third prize of an additional $5,000 for her project "Partners in Print - Learning Partners."
