Obtaining better visibility of data will remain the primary concern of 69% of finance directors over the next 18 months, according to the findings of a white paper published by Burns e-Commerce, Outsourcing the finance function; does efficiency begin at home?
Outsourcing - widely seen as a driver of efficiency - is a high-profile option for FDs, but only 21% outsource to UK companies and 10% outsource their data processing overseas. More prevalent are process re-engineering and automation, with 82% and 64% of FDs respectively using or considering these options.
