The Chairperson of the Kavango Regional Farmers' Union, Mathew Wakudumo, has appealed to residents in the region to declare war on veld fires.
Wakudumo told Nampa that people should take the matter of veld fires very seriously forests were being destroyed every year and this could lead to desertification.
He stressed that a collective effort was needed from all stakeholders.
