THE setting up of the Malaysia Design Technology Centre (MDTC) should augur well for the country, said a visiting professor from the Swinburne University of Technology, Australia.

Prof Helmut Lueckenhausen, Swinburne's dean of Design, said through MDTC, Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing, the brains behind the centre, was not only building a culture of innovation but also contributing to the economy of Malaysia. He said Lim, who has been a practical designer all his life, had always been clear on what he wanted to do: produce graduates equipped for the global environment.
