The Consumer Council says many cosmetics sold in Hong Kong lack important consumer information such as date of manufacture, an expiry date or how long the product can be used after it is opened.
``If beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, then quality assurance of cosmetic products must also embrace the disclosure of durability information for the scrutiny of the consumer,'' the council's publicity and community relations committee chairman Matthew Ng said.
