Reading is on the decline for every segment of the U.S. population, according to a recent report issued by the National Endowment of the Arts. The steepest decline is among young adults age 18 to 24.

The percentage of Americans who read books of any kind has been dropping over the last two decades. In 2002, 56.6% of Americans reported having read a book in the previous year, down 7% from 1992.
