A few months ago over dinner, I asked my teenage son what he'd done at school that day. He gave a vague answer and immediately turned the tables by asking what I'd done at work that day. When I mentioned my involvement in the faculty work-life balance project, he thought he'd misheard me.
"Work-life balance?" John asked.
"Yes," I said. "I have been asked to look into this area."
"You are in charge of work-life balance?"
"Kind of," I said.
