The Kenmore Elite K2 4210 refrigerator, designed as a home's second fridge for, say, an unheated garage, solves a confounding problem many refrigerators have when they're out in the cold: They don't run often enough. When the weather's cool, food in the freezer might thaw and spoil. And when it's very cold, food in the fridge can freeze. But the K2's advantages are so few and its price is so steep--$1,300 for the stainless model at right, or double the cost of highly rated refrigerator/freezers--that its value is dubious.
