JOHOR BARU, Thurs. - Will the new leadership in Singapore take a fresh look at Malaysia's proposal for a new bridge to replace the Causeway? Business groups, politicians and the people here certainly hope so.
They are confident that new Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his Cabinet will say "Yes" to the stalled project in the spirit of good bilateral relations.
They echoed the sentiment of Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman, who said yesterday that the new Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) complex would be rendered useless unless the bridge was built.
