But his role as head of business agency at the firm will continue largely unchanged - and he has some big deals to handle.

His team is currently handling the disposal of the Carlton Studios at Lenton Lane, which were earmarked for closure earlier this year after the merger of Carlton and Granada.

He has also been involved in deals at Sherwood Park, Annesley - the flagship business park close to Junction 27 of the M1.

Mr Straw said: "The last few years have been exceptionally busy and hugely rewarding.

"Last year the Nottingham business space team at Innes England disposed of or acquired over one million square feet - this year we will double that figure." Mr Straw is a native of Nottingham and sp ent seven years in private practice in the city before he moved down to London to take up a post with Marconi plc.
