Five countries currently account for 82 per cent of the foreign debt caused by failure to pay for Spanish exports. The overall foreign debt created by non-payment for Spanish exports amounted to nearly 1.18bn euros at the beginning of 2004 and thus represented 9.1 per cent of the risks of CESCE, the Spanish insurance specialist for export loans.
