A tropical storm in the Gulf of Mexico and a tropical depression in the southeast Caribbean have the potential to bring some stormy weather to already soggy Southwest Florida.
Tropical Storm Bonnie, which formed rapidly Monday from the remnants of a tropical depression, was gaining strength near the Yucatan Peninsula on Monday night.
"Current models are taking it in the general vicinity of the Florida Panhandle, but that's highly uncertain at this time," said Jamie Rhome, a meteorologist at the National Hurricane Center.
