West Central Division.(Division News)
June was conference month for three states in the West Central Division. Members of the Colorado State MTA met at the Inn at Silvercreek, June 3 and 4. The guest artist was Lori Sims, a Colorado native and winner of the First Prize Gold Medal at the 1998 Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition. A highlight of the conference was the PREP (Professional Reading Enrichment Program) seminar, at which attendees discussed their explorations into the characteristics of Western music and art, the world that produced them and how they all fit together.
Members of the Iowa MTA (IMTA) met for their state conference at Graceland University in Lamoni June 6-8. Featured artists were Ralph Votopek, the Roo Duo, piano duo team, and Tony Caramia. ...
