The emergence of a new party, the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), may trigger defections of MPs from the mainstream parties.

FDC was created by the merger of the Reform Agenda (RA), the National Democrats Forum (NDF) and the Parliamentary Advocacy Forum (Pafo).

Yesterday, RA vice-chairman Reagan Okumu in a phone interview said several opposition MPs affiliated to the Uganda People's Congress (UPC) and the Democratic Party (DP) had joined FDC.
