Public servants believe the distribution of performance pay is unfair and there is bias and favouritism in performance reward decisions, according to the Australian National Audit Office In its latest report into performance management in the Australian Public Service, the audit office says the perception of Public Service employees, shown in surveys taken during the audit, was that rewards offered were not worth the extra effort involved, and there was a lack of clarity on what constituted good performance.
